      <description><![CDATA[<p>The National Hazing Symposium is designed to offer a day-long examination of research, theories and practical implications for addressing the problem of hazing. This year's program will be a bit different from the past. While anyone is welcome to attend the program and participate, particular focus will be placed on bringing together experts for in-depth discussions surrounding the issue of hazing.</p>

      <title>National study findings released</title>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Dr. Elizabeth Allan and Dr. Mary Madden have just released the findings of their groundbreaking study on hazing across college campuses and student groups.</p>
<p>Ten initial findings are described
                                in the report, <a href="http://www.hazingstudy.org/publications/hazing_in_view_web.pdf" target="_blank"><em>Hazing in View: College Students
                                at Risk</em></a> and include:</p>
<ol>
<li>More than half of college students involved
                                in clubs, teams, and organizations experience
                                hazing.</li>
<li>Nearly half (47%) of students have experienced
                                hazing prior to coming to college. </li>
<li>Alcohol consumption, humiliation, isolation,
                                sleep- deprivation, and sex acts are hazing practices
                                common across student groups.</li>
